Welcoming the Propaedeutic (14th June, 2024)

On 14th June, 2024 St Pius X Seminary welcomed the newest members of the community. Four young men for the Archdiocese of Bombay and two for the Diocese of Vasai, joined the Seminary as members of the Propaedeutic year. The current 1st Year Philosophers organized the welcome for the new comers and their families along with the Vice Rector and Moderator, Fr John Barretto. After being shown to their respective dorms and enjoying some snacks, they were taken on a tour of the Seminary. In keeping with the tradition of the Seminary a Prayer Service was conducted by the 1st Year Philosophers. The Rector of the seminary, Fr Gilbert de Lima addressed the Propaedeutics and their families with words of encouragement, reminding them that their families were the first seminary and the Seminary is their 2nd home. He also stressed the accompanying presence of the Lord right through their seminary formation. Fr John Barretto also addressed them and wished them a year full of surprises and learning. Finally, the moment of saying a goodbye to their families arrived. There were mixed feelings as they began a new chapter in their lives as members of their new family of St Pius X Community.
