In the divine atmosphere filled with reverence and joy, the St. Pius X college ground witnessed a joyful event as ten deacons from the archdiocese, Dn Alton Extros, Dn Anthony Rodriques, Dn Ashley Vaz, Dn Cajetan Mendes, Dn Christi Gonsalves, Dn Christopher Frenandes, Dn Clinton Rayar, Dn Conrad Pereira, Dn Joyous Koreth, Dn Melborn Poshapir, were ordained as priests. The moto they chose for their ordination is "witnessing his love as a wounded healer". The Holy Mass, commenced at 06:00 p.m., Oswald Cardinal Gracias as the main celebrant. The candidates along with the altar servers, priests, bishops and the Cardinal enetered in a solemn procession as sacred ceremony unfolded amidst the the echoes of hymns and prayers. In the homily his Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias gave the message to the candidates "to always be available for the people of God" and "to attend, to reflect and to respond creatively" to the changes. The rite of ordination to the priesthood began soon after the homily. The litany of the saints was sung solemnly. The rite of ordination was completed with laying-of hands and the anointing with holy Chrism. The Rector of the seminary, Fr Anecito Pereira, then presented 10 newly ordained priests to the congregation. After the mass Fr Anthony Rodriques gave vote of thanks on behalf of the newly ordained priests. Finally, the ordinati gave their first priestly blessing to the congregation.
As the sun set on the St. Pius X college ground that evening, it marked not just the end of a ceremony but the beginning of a profound journey for the newly ordained priests. Their mission: to serve God's people with humility and compassion.
