Pongal, the harvest festival of the Tamil community, was celebrated in St. Pius X Seminary on January 16, 2024. Beginning with purchasing all the requirements and ending with nostalgic traditional food, every minute was well planned and executed by the brothers in the best way possible. The traditional dance performance by the brothers was a cherry on top.
Nearly a months effort came to yield its fruit on this day. The day began with the Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Rev. Fr. SM Michael SVD along with the residential priests of St. Pius X College. The decorations, traditional outfits worn by brothers, and the rangoli gave color to the celebrations. Fr. Aniceto, the Rector, reminded us to care for nature as we celebrate Pongal. He also handed gifts to the parishioners of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Goregaon West, who assisted in preparing food and in putting the Rangoli. The hard work of the brothers, under the constant guidance and support of the teaching and non-teaching faculty of St. Pius X Community, made this day successful and memorable.
