The community at St Pius X Seminary celebrated India’s 75th year of its Independence. We began with the Eucharist at 6.45 am which was celebrated in the Indian Style with all brothers seated on the floor of the Sanctuary. Fr Gilbert D’lima was the main celebrant for the Eucharist. Dn Dylan D’Souza preached the homily at mass with the key message of God’s dream being fulfilled in Mary and God’s grace helping Mary to come to a deeper realisation of this dream. After the Eucharist, the community gathered outside the porch for the flag hoisting ceremony. We were happy to have in our midst, His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias who greeted the community with the message of being future priests to make a better India. The Chief Guest for the event was our Seminary Receptionist, Mrs. Jennifer Fernandes, who hoisted the National Flag. Br Starson Gaurea was the chief commander and Br Sanjay Parmar delivered the speech with the theme to make a better India amidst the crises around. Fr Gilbert gave a concluding speech thanking the members who took efforts in making this event a meaningful one.
