The clergy football team of the Archdiocese of Bombay was privileged to be invited to play a rink football match against the former national and international players of Bandra. Without a shadow of a doubt, it was the game that was most eagerly awaited by the Bandra parishioners and players at the Independence Cup Rink Football Tournament 2018 held at Salsette CHS, Bandra. The event was organized by Johan Dharmai.
With Bishop John Rodrigues as the chief guest, the clergy team didn't need any more motivation to give off their best. And that's exactly what they did. They managed to pull off a 2-0 victory! Fr Lawrence scored the winning brace. The team consisted of Fr. Benhur Rodrigues, Fr. Denzil Correia, Fr. Lawrence, Fr. Melroy, Fr. Nigel Barrett, Fr. Allwyn Nazareth led by Deacon Omar Fernandes.
